The School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria seeks candidates for the position of Director of the School effective July 1, 2017. The successful candidate will be appointed to the School of Public Administration at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with tenure. The Directorship is for an administrative term of five years, with the possibility of a further five-year renewal.

Applicants must have an earned PhD in a relevant discipline with eligibility for tenure at Associate or Full Professor, visionary leadership to foster teaching and research excellence, and collaborative strategic and fiscal planning ability.

Canada Research Chair Tier 1 – Energy Policy, Tenure-Track
Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy

The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) invites applications for a Professor position for the nomination of a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Energy Policy, commencing January 1, 2018. The CRC in Energy Policy is expected to coordinate research by multidisciplinary teams on all aspects of energy issues from a global perspective. Candidates should normally have reached the rank of full Professor but Associate Professors who are expected to be promoted to the full Professor level within one or two years of the nomination may also be considered.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D., will be an established leader in his/her field as evidenced by an exceptional record of research, funding, scholarship, teaching and mentorship with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of energy policy. The selected candidate will be a leader in fostering and enhancing interdisciplinary and collaborative research partnerships that support and advance innovative energy policy locally, nationally, and internationally.

Dalhousie University School of Public Administration

The Dalhousie University School of Public Administration invites applications for two probationary tenure-track, tenure-track or tenured position in public administration at the rank of assistant or associate professor (dependent on qualifications and experience) commencing July 1, 2017. We are seeking energetic faculty members who are enthusiastic about the professional preparation of those who want to serve the public, and are interested in research, theory, applied inquiry, and policy making and managing. We are particularly interested in candidates with research interests and teaching experience in the areas of public policy, organizational design, public management, governance and ethics. Other areas of specialization will be considered. Knowledge of all three levels of government is important. Advanced communication skills and demonstrated success as a team player and leader are valuable assets.

Candidates will have a PhD in public administration or management, or in a cognate discipline of the social sciences such as political science or sociology.
